Privacy Policy – MYHOTPICKS

MYHOTPICKS is a mobile application developed by Antonio Carmona Polanco. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, and protect your personal data in compliance with Google Play requirements and applicable privacy laws.

We collect the following types of data when you use MYHOTPICKS:

Personal Information: Name, email address, age, country of residence, profile image (if provided), and password (for email/password sign-ups; never stored in plain text).
Identifiers: Firebase UID, device identifiers, and notification tokens.
Account and Authentication Data: Google account data (if you use Google Sign-In), including your name, email, and profile picture.
User-Generated Content: Rankings, votes, messages, comments, images, and other content you create or upload in the app.
Usage Data: Interactions with the app, analytics, crash logs, and device information (such as model, OS version, language, and country).
Advertising Data: Anonymous advertising identifiers (for personalized ads via Google AdMob).

We do not collect or access your device’s precise or approximate location, contacts, calendar, SMS, or call logs.

2. How We Use Your Data

To provide and improve app functionality (e.g., rankings, voting, messaging, account management).
To authenticate users and manage accounts.
To personalize your experience (e.g., showing country flags, recommended content).
To analyze app usage and performance (using Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics).
To send notifications (e.g., voting results, app updates, password recovery).
To display personalized ads (using Google AdMob, if enabled).
To prevent fraud, ensure security, and comply with legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal data to third parties.

3. Data Sharing and Transfers

Your data may be shared or transferred as follows:

With Google Firebase services (Authentication, Firestore, Storage, Analytics, Messaging, Crashlytics) for secure storage, authentication, analytics, and notifications.
With Google AdMob for displaying ads (using anonymous identifiers only).
With third-party SDKs strictly for app functionality, analytics, or advertising as described above.
With other users (e.g., your rankings, messages, or profile image if you interact in public or community features).

All data transfers are encrypted in transit using HTTPS/TLS.

4. Data Security

All user data is securely stored in Google Firebase services.
Passwords are never stored in plain text.
Access to your data is restricted and monitored.
We use industry-standard security measures to protect your information.

5. Data Retention and Deletion

We retain your data as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, all associated data (rankings, votes, messages, profile, etc.) is permanently deleted from our systems, except where retention is required by law.

You can request deletion of your account and data at any time via the app or by using our data deletion request form.

6. User Rights

You have the right to:

Access your data
Correct inaccurate information
Delete your account and associated data
Withdraw consent for data processing

Most actions can be managed directly in the app under your profile settings or by contacting us.

7. Children’s Privacy

MYHOTPICKS is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If we learn that we have unintentionally collected such data, we will promptly delete it.

8. Third-Party SDKs and Services

MYHOTPICKS uses third-party SDKs and services, including but not limited to:

Google Firebase (Authentication, Firestore, Storage, Analytics, Messaging, Crashlytics)
Google AdMob (advertising)
Stripe (payments, if enabled)
Device Info Plus, Shared Preferences, and other analytics or utility SDKs

These services may collect and process data as described in their respective privacy policies.

9. International Data Transfers

Your data may be processed and stored on servers located outside your country of residence. We ensure that all data transfers comply with applicable data protection laws and are encrypted in transit.
